It’s up to the viewer, really, whether Hero is holding a gun here or not.

But one thing I can tell you,

If he were to hold a gun, Hero would never shoot it.

If a gun lands in our Hero’s hand, it’s because he just ripped it from the clutches of a bad guy.

To be honest, when I paint, some shapes just take form, and I run with them.

But I enjoy the narrative puzzle of our Hero in a swamp at sunset with a possible gun.
