It seems that these two animal motifs have followed me for my entire artistic career: Tigers and Bunnies.
The bunny has always represented my tender side. Soft and sweet and more than a little scared. Most days I really do feel like a hyper-sensitive bunny.
The tiger has emerged more gradually. He is my strength. I am deeply motivated by that one poem that became a meme. Nael, a six year old child wrote this. It goes:
The tiger.
He destroyed his cage
Yes
YES
The tiger is out.
There are more days where I feel like the tiger who destroyed his cage.
This piece is my attempt to bring these two sides together. Sensitivity and strength. Eternally, and without fear.
